EPIEN Medical, Inc. researches and develops novel medical products for the surface repair of damaged and diseased mucosa and skin. EPIEN's patented HybenX® sulfonated aromatic chemistry technology is the backbone of a broad new product strategy that facilitates healing by eliminating infectious materials and necrotic tissue.

The mechanism of action of HybenX® technology is to use our products unique physical properties to denature a thin layer (100-300 microns) of biological materials on a surface without altering the underlying material.  This technique is a unique alternative to conventional products.  HybenX® technology shows promising results in the elimination of a wide variety of bacterial pathogens including Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).    

The Company will expand on these current successes to provide future products for other medical applications. These could include dental etchants, surface disinfectants, the treatment of diseased skin, medical and environmental biofilm reduction, and general wound care.
